Special Life Drawing Sessions with Sally Fisher on Wednesday 9th December

Special Life Drawing Sessions with Sally Fisher on Wednesday 9th December

Get a fresh perspective on the human figure with our life drawing class.

Practising scales is essential to the musician, and drawing is the fundamental skill essential to the artist. We have lined up two fantastic models and hope that you can join us to observe and capture the human form on paper.

Sally’s tutoring philosophy is very much about showing you range of techniques and options, then allowing you choose what styles work best for you.  She is never prescriptive but will inspire you to discover and develop your own style in a way that works for you. Suitable for beginners and experienced artists, the accent will be on form, 3D and accuracy.

These fun sessions will include:

  • Half an hour of the morning being dedicated to short warm-up exercises, then longer poses for the remainder of the time
  • Sally will demonstrate charcoal techniques using tone, line and rubber to capture the essence of the pose and gain confidence.
  • Some time will be spent doing ink and stick drawings to really loosen you up (these materials provided by Sally)
  • Each artist will receive informal, relaxed & attentive guidance from Sally Fisher

£20 per session, please book directly through the tutor.

  • You want to increase your understanding of the human form and anatomy
  • You want to get away from it all and immerse yourself in a fun, creative environment

.

You will need to bring:

  • One roll of medium or heavyweight lining wallpaper,
  • Willow and/or compressed charcoal,
  • Kitchen roll or rag rubber
  • A packed lunch if you wish to stay after the class and eat with fellow students.

My life drawing sessions are immersive, intense and fun.  Those who come are given 3 hours to switch off from life and focus on just one thing – capturing the human form on paper. For many people’s lives this proves to be a rare but welcome opportunity.  They are intense though, which is why we make these sessions shorter than the typical classes run here at the Phoenix.
