Not really off the beaten track!

The Phoenix Trail, a National Cycle Network route, is right adjacent to the Phoenix Studio (hence its name!) and runs between Thame and Princes Risborough.  

Its a beautiful route with modern sculpture placed along Trail.  The Studio is 4.5 miles from Princes Risborough Train Station and 1.4 miles from Thame Town Centre.

Set in beautiful Oxfordshire countryside and just on the outskirts of the village of Towersey, the studio is found between the rural towns of Thame and Chinnor.

Whilst we would love it if everyone one of our visitors arrived via sustainable or public transport, we do appreciate that it is not always even remotely feasible.  That said, those of you who did make it over via peddle power or sustainable transport will get considerable kudos from us!

More carbon neutral suggestions are written further down the page; with Sustran’s Phoenix Trail within a stone’s throw of the meadow, I really cannot recommend a more pleasant way of getting here than by bike!

By Bus

There are two potential bus options available to you.

The No.40 bus comes through Towersey and runs between High Wycombe, Studley Green, Stokenchurch, Chinnor and Thame.  Like a lot of rural buses, the service isn’t great but it may suite your needs.

Also...

The Oxford Tube stops at Lewknor.  Its a quick bus route and runs between London and Oxford.  You could arrange to get a taxi from Lewknor to the Studio or we can generally pick you up for a small fee.

Just a few minutes drive away from Junction 6 of the M40, we are quick and easy to get to by car.

By Train

There are two train stations near the Studio - Princes Risborough and Haddenham & Thame Parkway.  Both are just over 4 miles from the Studio.

Once you arrive at the Station, you can either get a taxi or we can generally arrange to pick you up for a small fee.  Please call us to discuss.
