Spend three glorious summer days exploring three fabulous printmaking techniques, in one stunning art studio and natural surroundings!
Taught by professional artist and tutor Liam Biswell, you will delve into the world of dry-point etching, monoprints and screenprinting.
During this inspiring course, you will learn:
- How to select suitable images and reference materials
- The key principles dry point etching – how to get stunning images and add extra dimensions with additional colours and collage
- How to develop your own unique monoprints – this technique is expressive, loose and open to experimentation!
- How to create your own series of screen prints using cut or ripped stencils and use layering to produce instant, bold prints.
- How you can express your own style through mark making, use of texture, colour choice and composition.
- How to edition and mount your work so that it looks great on the wall.
In this professional artists’ studio:
- You’ll get step by step guidance from Liam throughout the sessions
- Be given visual presentations and demonstrations
- You’ll work in a relaxed, informal learning atmosphere and a community of fellow artists to share the learning experience with

COURSE OUTLINE
DAY 1:
Drypoint Etching
You will learn how to transfer your chosen image or design onto a plate. This can then be put through the printing press, transferring it to paper!
DAY 2:
Monoprint
A very instant printmaking process, students can achieve effective results quickly. There are various techniques to explore in monoprint, both with and without an etching press. It is an experimental process, a favourite of Liam’s for generating ideas as well as finished pieces. The beauty of monoprinting lies in its spontaneity and its allowance for combinations of printmaking, painting and drawing media
DAY 3:
Screen Printing.
How to use a squeegee to push ink through a screen onto paper, card, fabric, or wood. It’s addictive and you’ll love it!

We do ask that children under 14 years old are accompanied by a full paying adult or guardian.
