We are delighted to be welcoming back Liam Biswell to the studio in 2024 and have missed his wonderful screen printing course.
The sense of excitement you feel when you draw your paint ladened squeegee over the screen. The soft ‘screeeech’ as it glides over the taught surface back towards your body! Then lifting the frame up to reveal a crisp design that is more vibrant and exciting than you could have possibly imagined… There is rarely an art form that gives you quite such an exciting ‘big reveal’ as screen printing!
Throughout this workshop you will be learning how to layer your prints. You will be focussing on the registration, placement and positioning of these various layers to achieve a balanced and effective composition. You will use Collage and Mixed Media to further enhance your imaginative multi-layered artworks.
Taught and guided by our printmaking maestro Liam Biswell, you will create colourful, finished prints you can be proud of!

Liam gets great feedback from her courses. Here are just a couple of testimonials:
‘Superb weekend! First time I’ve been able to throw myself into a print project from start to finish since I was at secondary school. So many ideas now flowing, I want to get back into the studio again and create more. Would have loved to spend more time getting to know everyone, but we were all so engrossed in our creations that the weekend whizzed by. I’d do it again in a heartbeat……just need to find the time now. Highly recommended creative weekend!’David MacQueen
‘I thoroughly enjoyed Liam’s 2 day printmaking workshop. I was a complete beginner, but Liam guided us through the different processes and encouraged us in such a way that I had confidence to have a go and was rather pleased with my efforts! It was all very relaxed. Liam was well organised and all the equipment and materials we needed were readily to hand. The Phoenix Studio in Towersey was a pleasant and accommodating space to work in. I look forward to the next opportunity.’Julia MacDougall
